| Yoga and Chiropractic |
| | Yoga and its system of yoga therapeutics is
one of the fastest-growing personal health practices in the United States and throughout the world. Today's yoga is a
merging of its 5000 year-old traditions with a cutting edge understanding of anatomy and biomechanics. The principles of alignment
used in the yoga practice of postures are sophisticated and user friendly. This is an obvious place for the chiropractor to
demonstrate professional expertise and knowledge. |
Experience
the world's premier holistic workshop center, the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, in Rhinebeck, NY by taking the
program here.
| Why Take This Workshop? |
 | Chiroyoga™ Seminars introduces the
principles of alignment and posture, anatomy and biomechanics that are the basis of today's study of yoga and the practice
of yoga therapy. The workshops explore specifically how these principles can enhance the chiropractic practice in our evaluation,
adjustment and re-hab protocols. The course is technical, yet hands-on and very user-friendly. It is not intended to challenge
or replace any chiropractic method but instead to share some true gems of insight from this age-old system that will certainly
inspire most chiropractic approaches. Some prior knowledge of yoga is helpful but not required. All yoga practice during the
seminar will be at an all-levels intensity. |
The primary instructor for ChiroYoga™ Seminars and its inspiration is Steven Weiss, MS, DC,
RYT. He is a 1979 NYCC graduate and is the resident chiropractor and nutritionist at the Omega Institute. Dr. Weiss has been
a yoga student for 27 years and is a registered yoga teacher and member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
His focus of study has primarily been with the Iyengar and Anusara schools of yoga. |
